What to compare
A price feed, chart integration and order-entry API serve different purposes. Ask which API is available to your account, whether it supports a demo, the authentication method, rate limits, supported orders and recovery after a lost connection.
Limits of the published information
An API can place unintended duplicate orders if a request times out. A useful evaluation includes idempotency, order-status reconciliation and a kill switch. API subscriptions, exchange data and server costs belong in the comparison alongside commission.
Documented API options are more useful than an API badge
IBKR’s official documentation separates Web API, TWS API, Excel and FIX. These have different connection and access requirements. The existence of documentation is a group-level product observation; it does not confirm access for every UAE applicant or financial instrument.
Choose a specific API before comparing brokers. In a paper environment, test authentication expiry, order-status retrieval and reconnection after an uncertain response. Record account permissions and market-data subscriptions separately. A read-only price feed should not be labelled an order-entry API.
