Residence can change account eligibility and legal routing.

Contact the firm before relocating
Ask whether the existing entity can continue serving the destination country and when to update residence details. Do not assume an international brand supports every country through the same company.
Clarify any migration
Record whether transfer requires new consent, a new agreement, position closure or a fresh account. Compare the destination entity’s fees, product availability and client-money arrangements instead of carrying old assumptions across.
Coordinate outstanding transactions
Ask how open positions, pending withdrawals and statements will be handled. Tax consequences and residence status need independent professional advice; this guide does not determine tax residence.
A move from the UAE to another country can create an account-eligibility question even when the brand remains available there. Ask whether the same legal entity can retain the account, whether a new agreement is required, and what happens to open positions and cash.
Use a before-and-after record: residence, agreement company, client classification, available products, funding currency and tax forms requested. Do not assume positions or cost basis can be transferred unchanged. Obtain the proposed process before the move, and treat any personal tax question as a separate matter for qualified advice.
